Q: What is Kindermusik? |
A: Kindermusik is a music and movement program for parents and their children, ages newborn to seven years old. The variety of activities including singing, dancing, instruments such as shakers and rhythm sticks, and story time encourage children in the six main areas of development: physical, cognitive, social, emotional, musical, and language. |
Q: What are the At-Home Materials? |
A: The At-Home Materials for Kindermusik help bring the power of music into your home and your child's life forever. An integral part of every Kindermusik program, your Kindermusik At-Home Materials include the highest-quality music CDs, creative activities, beautifully illustrated children's books, and specially designed instruments-created to complement the music and Kindermusik classroom experience. With the help of these materials, Kindermusik does not have to be a once-a-week experience, but part of your everyday routine! |
Q: Are the At-Home Materials a required purchase? |
A: Yes. These materials are high-quality, safety-tested and essential to enhancing the Kindermusik experience outside the classroom. |
Q: What is Family Time? |
A: Family Time is one of the newer curriculums offered by Kindermusik. This class is designed for families with multiple children in different age groups. Instead of filling up your week traveling from activity to activity, save time and money by bringing the whole family to Kindermusik Family Time! |
Q: Do I have to have an adult for every child that I bring to Family Time? |
A: No. The Family Time class is very flexible. If you have a spouse, grandparent, or friend available to come to class with you, great! I always welcome extended family to participate with us, but it is not required. My hands (and lap!) are always open, and you will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly the whole class becomes a "family" and lends a helping hand to each other! |
Q: What if my child is on the edge of two different age groups? |
A: If your child is right at the edge, please consult me by phone before registering for a class. It is very important that we place your child in the group that will best fit your child's physical, mental, and emotional needs. With a short conversation over the phone, we should be able to make the right decision! |
Q: What about children with special needs? |
A: Kindermusik can be a wonderful, fulfilling experience for any child. The flexible structure and pacing of each class makes it easy to adapt activities for the needs of every child. If you would like to enroll a child with special needs in a Kindermusik class, please call Danielle Smith (before registering) to discuss which class would be most appropriate. |
